Cristiano Ronaldo
![]() | Cristiano Ronaldo, a female common seal pup, arrived on the 24th of June 2006 and she was approximately a week old. She was picked up from Sutton Bridge where she was spotted by a couple who had been out on their boat all day watching the seals. Cristiano was being pushed away by all the older seals for hours so after some advise from us she was brought in and is now here at the sanctuary. She only weighed 8.0kg when she first came in. |
Update: 5th October 2006 - Cristiano Ronaldo is now in the pup pool in the hospital where she has a little more room to be able to swim around and chase her food. She has put on nearly 10kg since she first arrived and hopefully we will soon be able to move her in the outside seal pool with Sally, Amber and Stevie. Outside she will learn to compete for food with the other seals and also how to interact with larger seals before she will be released.
Update: 5th November 2006 - Ronaldo has been moved outside and doing very well, she is nearly at release weight so as soon as she is as heavy, we will be released her back into the wild. Ronaldo has had her flipper tag, she is having great fun annoying Stevie and eating everything she can get her hands on. Ronaldo is due to be released back into the wild within the next few months.
Update: 9th January 2007 - Ronaldo is doing very well, he is now quite fat little seal nearly ready to start his big adventure out into the wild. We will release Ronaldo along with Peter Crouch and Crespo, all three have small tags in their back flippers so if they are seen they can be identified.
Update: 28th January 2007 - We are hoping to release Ronaldo along with Peter Crouch and Crespo on 9th of February 2007 as long as the weather holds out. All three have their flipper tags and are fat and rearing to go. This will leave Sally, Amber and Stevie in our main pool so they will be able to have some piece and quiet for a while.
Update: 10th February 2007 - Ronaldo along with Peter Crouch and Crespo were all released back into the wild on 9th of February 2006 at Sutton Bridge.
