Buck rescued on 8th February 2009
Buck, a common seal pup, was picked up from old Hunstanton beach on 8th February 2009.

He had been attacked by a dog or another seal as he had various cuts on his nose and on all of his flippers.

He even had cuts covering most of his body.
Buck
Buck He has responded very well to treatment and his cuts have all healed. He is a highly aggressive seal and extremely difficult to work with. This aggression could well be due to his previous attack as he always seems very nervous and 'on guard'.

Update: April 2009 - Buck is currently about 8 months old and he will be moving to the outdoor pool in May 2009 to join the other seals.
Update: 24th May 2009 - Buck has now been moved out of the hospital and into the outdoor pool and is making quite an impact with the rest of the seals. Being a young seal, Buck tends to be quite playful, inquisitive and generally boisterous.
Update: 28th July 2009 - Buck is by far the most aggressive seal we have at the moment - he got his name from the days when we had to treat his wounds when he was first rescued - he used to behave like a bucking bronco! - trying to throw us off when we had to straddle over him to clean his sores.

We are now planning to release Buck along with Sooty back into the wild again and will very soon have a date!
We will keep you informed as soon as we can confirm a time and date for their release.
Update: 17th September 2009 - Good News!!! With Buck's wounds fully healed and a clean bill of health, Buck was released back to the wild at the beginning of September 2009.
