BRONWYN
Blodwyn was rescued from Weybrey Point, Plymouth, by the RSPCA on the 23 November 2003. She was originally discovered with a deep puncture wound on her left hind flipper and very malnourished. It was found that she was actually a carrier for Salmonella and the Animal Care Team had to decide whether or not to take her in. It was thought that she would be a risk to all the other pups at Gweek if she came into contact with them. When the decision was finally made, the RSPCA informed us that she was cleared and so the sanctuary agreed to take her.
GERWYN
Mair was also rescued by the RSPCA, after being found at Westward Ho in Devon on the 28 November 2002. She was very thin and had severe diarrhoea. She had a small puncture wound to her right fore flipper and some days she tended not to use it. In order to try and get her back to normal, the Animal Care Team put her into a pool to make her swim. She has recovered well and will soon be able to be transferred to the main pool with the other pups that area ready for release.
