BOCK - Rescued on 24th April 2006

At this point the team called the BDMLR, who headed up there. On their arrival the RSPCA were already on scene. The pup was given fluids on the beach, and put in a cage and RSPCA then brought the seal into Gweek. Seal with net removed - Photo copyright of Barry Harwood
Photo of Bock was taken by Rachael VineAt the Sanctuary, the pup was put into isolation and was given a name ´Bock´, a clinical assessment revealed that he was aged around 4-5 months and weighed 22 kilos. He also had puncture wounds to his rear flippers and a swollen hock, he is also very sleepy and has a heavy burden of worms. He has been given a course of antibiotics, pain relief, multi-vitamins, iron and a course of worm tablets.

Update: 14th July 2006 - Bock was released back into the wild along with Pacific, Smuggler and Spingo at Porthtowan at 6.30am on 12th of July 2006.
