Blue Topaz arrived on 11th January 2012
Blue Topaz was rescued from Summerleaze beach in Bude on 3rd November 2011 and taken to the RSPCA´s West Hatch Wildlife Centre for treatment. The pup was originally rescued due to a malnourished condition weighing 13 kilos.

The pup was transferred to the National Seal Sanctuary on 11th January 2012 for Blue Topaz´s next stage of rehabilitation, also to learn to compete for fish with other seals before finally being released back into the wild.
Blue Topaz´s flipper tag number is 80040 (orange).

Seal Release on 3rd February 2012 - photos by Daniel Murphy Update: 6th February 2012 - Blue Topaz was released back into the wild at Gwithian beach on 3rd February 2012 along Lola Bella, Zara Phillips, Boudicca, Sapphire and Basil Fawlty.
