| Albert was rescued on 8th August 2008 |
| Albert was found on Holkham beach being only a couple of weeks old on the 8th August 2008. Sadly he had some bite marks to his face and rear flippers, these may have been caused by a dog or another seal. We put him on antibiotics and fluid as soon as he arrived in the hospital. Albert was rescued by Nigel, our Attractions Manager, and Rob, our Animal Care Team Assistant. |
![]() | Update: 10th September 2008 - Albert still lives in the indoor pup pool, but will be moving into the main pool in some point next week. He doing very well now and all his wounds have healed. He currently weighs 17kg and his flipper tag number is 04 (yellow). | |
| Update: October 2008 -
Albert has finally joined the other rescued seal pups and resident seals in the big outdoor pool and he has settled very well. He is having lots of fun sneaking up behind the animal care team at feeding times to get some extra fish out of the bucket. He must have learned that trick from Sherbet (our resident seal), who used to do that when he was a pup. Update: 20th March 2009 - Albert was released back into the wild on 15th February 2009 along with Corn, Floss and Spot. |
