A.Cole was brought into our hospital because he had obvious injuries to his flippers that needed treating, and was coughing and sneezing. He weighed 21.5kg and was approximately 5 months old.

His cuts were treated by our animal care team, and they soon found out he was a very hyperactive pup! He was diagnosed with lungworm, a parasite that sits in lungs and causes coughing, so his treatment for this started straight away.

Update : 25th November 2010 : A.Cole has already eating whole fish for himself! As he is older than our other seal pups this year, A.Cole has had more experience eating whole fish in the wild.

Update : 17th December 2010 - A.Cole went into our pup pool with Capello today. The pair of them are get on really well, although there was a bit of snarling! His lungworm has been treated, his injuries are healed and he is a very healthy weight!
Update : 30th December 2010 - A.Cole was moved outside today with Capello the pup, and Sally, Amber and Tyne - our resident seals. His flipper tag number is 10 (blue).

Update : 9th January 2011 - A.Cole was released today with Capello at a quiet, local beach. A.Cole went straight into the sea, only looking back once just before he hit the waves. We did not see him again until his head popped up about 100 yards away offshore!
