There's spooky goings on at the National Seal Sanctuary this week, where their two Otters have been seen eating from frightening pumpkins!
Halloween has taken an unusual turn in the Sanctuary, with even resident otters Bamboo and Thai joining in.
"We decided to let the animals in our care also enjoy Halloween by putting treats for them in carved pumpkins" said the head of animal care team, Tamara Cooper. "They thoroughly enjoyed it! Its great to see them trying to find ways of getting to the food, and it keeps their minds very active".
The otters have been residents of the Sanctuary for six years, with their enclosure being within the woodland walk of the site.
The pumpkins are placed within their pen and the otters have time to play with the vegetables in order to get food.
"All the visitors have loved watching them enjoy Halloween, it's such a memorable experience!" added Tamara.
The otters will be receiving the treats in this way throughout the October half term at the Sanctuary.
Also being conducted at the site by staff at this time is ghost story telling, scary face painting, apple bobbing, witch hunts and staff will be dressed for the occasion.
