The National Seal Sanctuary at Gweek was pleased to give Hannah Davies and her boyfriend Chas a guided tour of the Sanctuary, which had been purchased as a Christmas present via the West Briton's web site
Bid 4 It.

The package included a guided tour of the Sanctuary, goodie bag, free admission for one year and a chance to feed some of the seals.

'I had visited the Sanctuary when I was a lot younger and enjoy it from what I can remember, so to be able to come back and visit as an adult was great,' said Hannah

The tour started with a history of the Sanctuary before stopping at the SOS Hospital to visit some of this winter's rescued pups receiving treatment. This winter the Sanctuary has rescued 38 seals from around the south west.

'The pups in the hospital looked really poorly, but knowing they were at the Sanctuary receiving around the clock care from the staff was very reassuring,' said Hannah

A training and feeding session was also included in the package and both Hannah and Chas got the opportunity to feed two resident Fur Seals Andy and Chaff.

'I fed Chaff and he was so willing to do the commands I asked, lifting his flippers and opening his mouth to check his teeth. He was a star. I was disappointed I could not take a seal home but got the next best adoption.

'I did have a bit of trouble choosing which one, but finally settled on Snoopy, a bit of a diva at the Sanctuary' added Hannah
